MOTION PARALLAX
This photograph illustrates the
principle of motion parallax:
when we move, the nearer an
object is to us, the more it
appears to move.
Still another possible source of
information about depth that is
eliminated in the dark-room
experiment is motion parallax
ΓÇöΓÇômotion on the part of the
observer. The nearer an object,
the more its direction (with
respect to the observer)
changes when the observer
moves, as can be seen in the
illustration to the left.
